Project information

After his pastry education in hotel school ‘Ter Groene Poort’ in Bruges, Joos Arijs apprenticed in the kitchens of Mahieu, Marc Ducobu and Pierre Hermé. Afterwards he ended up in the three-star restaurant Hof Van Cleve, where he was the pastry chef for two years.

In 2012 he was elected by Gault & Millau as “Best Pastry Chef of Belgium”. Barely four years after the he opened the first store with his girlfriend Elke De Baerdemaeker in Ghent, this young couple can show off a second store in Antwerp.

Both stores were decorated in the same sleek and modern style where the delicious chocolates and colourful macarons fully come into it’s own. The new store did get an Antwerp touch with Delta Light’s Metronome, designed by Antwerp fashion designer Tim Van Steenbergen.
