Gemelle Restaurant (AU)

Established in 1993 Gemelle is one of south west Sydney’s favorite dining destinations and is renowned for its authentic quality Italian food. In 2015 Gemelle engaged local architecture firm Mosca Pserras to refurbish their existing premises that included a large restaurant, function center and garden grounds, a significant long-term investment.

The brief was to design an environment that reflects their core values and reputation for authentic Italian with a contemporary flair. Mosca Pserras selected a range of Delta Light and Inlite luminaires to enhance their textured palette and worked closely with Inlite during the planning and installation process.

The finished result is a warm and inviting interior space that speaks of tradition but within a modern contemporary context. Layers of texture add dimension to the space with a warm neutral palette used throughout.

Delta Light Tiga LED wall lights are installed in series against one of the back paneled walls. The Tiga with its simple form fits seamlessly into the environment, while the defined up and down beams illuminate the texture of the fabric walls and make for a dramatic statement. Along the adjacent wall Delta Light Montur fittings are installed symmetrically along plywood paneling. The Montur is a perfect fit for this project, with its design breathing new life into a classic form. The strong defined lines of the Montur are repeated in the shadow lines of the boards creating a strong visual feature which can be seen when approaching the restaurants entrance.
